11a - 3p

My approach to matching wine and food spans both special and everyday reasons to open a bottle and whip up something that tastes great with it.

We will learn recipes while cooking together that are geared toward simple cooking for a week night dinner party, some ways with wine and special occasion dining, and even opportunities to drink wine and enjoy good food for a weekend brunch or a quick supper with goods grabbed from the pantry.

The Barn’s Beverage Babe - Abby Powell - will guide us this afternoon to chat about the most food-friendly wines and favorite - budget-friendly! - wines and their regions. She will also share personal tips and tricks for procuring the most interesting, yummy wines.

We will enjoy nibbles and a bountiful lunch of what we’ve prepared.

cooking classes + creative workshops

+ Cooking classes and creative workshops are always small, hands-on, laid-back, focus on what’s in season, and culminate with a festive, shared meal.

+ Once purchased, your class or workshop tuition is non-refundable, but you may have someone attend in your place if you are unable to attend.

+ If the class or workshop must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the Barn, you will have the choice of scheduling a new class or workshop or receiving a complete refund.

+ The Barn is surrounded by hills, grassy areas, rocks, and changes in elevation. Please dress appropriately, comfortable footwear and an extra layer of warmth is recommended.

+ Not responsible for personal injury or accidents while on the Barn property.

+ Update COVID 2021:  Please be aware that during a class at the Barn we will be in close proximity to each other for 4 hours, first around the kitchen island and then the dining table.  I highly recommend that if you or anyone in your group is at all in a high risk category or have not been vaccinated, that they DO NOT attend.  Because we are eating and drinking the entire time, masks are not a realistic option. In the event that we need to cancel as we near because of a Covid-related situation on my end or yours, I will do my best to do so with at least 7 days notice and I ask that you do the same.
