PRIVATE GROUP CLASSES at the BARN 2026
I am so excited to be entering my 9th year of cooking classes at the Barn! And, I am so excited to announce the one year anniversary of my new all-natural wine + cook shop and teaching kitchen downtown Cashiers, La Poste! I am so grateful for your interest and support! I can’t wait to be in the kitchen with you all!
* Please be sure to fully read the information below since Private Group Classes at the Barn this year will be a little bit different than they have been in past years!
I will have fewer available class dates at the Barn in 2026 as I hope to hold some of my personal classes at La Poste, too. If you have a date in-mind, be sure to let me know asap. I am almost always able to pencil in your date for a time while you have time to organize and plan your group.
We also have many available class dates at La Poste. Here, I will personally host classes. Abby will host her own classes, wine tastings + wine education events. We also have a fabulous roster of guest chefs, artists and other creatives that will be available for classes and workshops. Possible availability at La Poste is 7 days a week and over lunch and/or dinner hours. Private Group Information for La Poste is a little different than at the Barn, so please inquire if interested to lapostewineshop@gmail.com
TIME + DAYS: Private Group Class days at the Barn are centered around lunch hours from 11am - 3pm and are held only Monday - Friday.
THE FESTIVE FORMAT: Classes are always really fun, intimate, and hands-on (if desired.) Your experience is four hours long and includes three hours or so of casual instruction, centered around a big island in the open kitchen - while we nibble on some of our creations - and then approximately an hour for a seated meal of what we've prepared in the sun-filled Barn dining room.
WINE + WINE EDUCATION IS INCLUDED: This year, I am thrilled to announce that Abby will be at the Barn with hand-selected wines and in-depth wine education for all of our classes! She will choose all the wines from our beautiful, all-natural selection of wines at La Poste and will share her knowledge of these wines as we sip them during class and during lunch. She will also share all of the reasons why we are so passionate about natural wine, the stories about our favorite producers, and the fascinating regions in which they are being produced.
NEW THEMES + MENUS: Same as always, you choose the general theme for your class or share with me desires for what your group would like to cook, learn, or eat. This winter, I have worked hard to create super fun new dishes for each theme, so you may choose the same theme from a past year and learn delicious new dishes + techniques. I always ask about food allergies and/or aversions and will try to stay away from any of those ingredients, but please keep in mind that some themes may not be best when accommodating certain allergies.
PRICING: As food prices, tariffs on wine and ingredients, and factors affecting labor - such as health insurance rates - continue to rise ….sadly, so must our class prices. I hope you trust that my commitment to hand-selecting only the most beautiful local ingredients will never falter.
The cost for each class at the Barn is $245 per person ($240 if you use Venmo.) The minimum for a private group is 8 (or the pricing equivalent) and the maximum is 10. This amount is all-inclusive, including wine, your four-hour experience, and service. I provide printed recipes and aprons to wear during class.
optional add-ons:
+$40 per person if you’d like to add a seafood-filled theme/menu
+$40 per person if you’d like to add a ‘fancy AF’ wine selection
Please be aware of the Barn’s cancellation policies before confirming your booking!
cooking classes + creative workshops
+ Cooking classes and creative workshops are always small, hands-on, laid-back, focus on what’s in season, and culminate with a festive, shared meal.
+ Once purchased, your class or workshop tuition is non-refundable, but you may have someone attend in your place if you are unable to attend.
+ If the class or workshop must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of the Barn, you will have the choice of scheduling a new class or workshop or receiving a complete refund.
+ The Barn is surrounded by hills, grassy areas, rocks, and changes in elevation. Please dress appropriately, comfortable footwear and an extra layer of warmth is recommended.
